The Rooftop Revolution: How Nitribeet’s Foreign Trade Team Cultivated Success

When the summer sun turned our office into a sweltering hotbox, the Nitribeet Foreign Trade team ditched the spreadsheets and embarked on a mission: to transform our rooftop balcony into a thriving garden. This wasn't just a simple team - building activity;   it was a journey filled with laughter, challenges, and a whole lot of growth—both for our plants and our team spirit.

Why We Rolled Up Our Sleeves
In the world of foreign trade, we know that strong relationships are the backbone of success.Whether it’s closing deals with international clients or collaborating internally, teamwork makes the dream work. That’s why we decided to swap our usual client meetings for a day of gardening.

Our goals were simple yet powerful:
Break down barriers: Step outside the formal office environment and get to know each other on a more personal level.
Spark creativity: Immerse ourselves in a new experience and let fresh ideas bloom.
Build a stronger team: Work together towards a common goal and strengthen our bonds along the way.

The Green - Thumbed Adventure Unfolds
1.   Turf Troubles and Teamwork Triumphs
The first order of business was laying down artificial turf.   It seemed like a straightforward task, but as soon as we unrolled the heavy, awkwardly - shaped turf, we realized we were in for a challenge. It was like trying to wrangle a giant, uncooperative snake!

We quickly divided into teams. Some were in charge of holding the turf steady, while others grabbed scissors to trim the edges. There were plenty of false starts, with the turf bunching up or refusing to lie flat. But instead of getting frustrated, we turned it into a competition to see who could come up with the most creative solution. Shouts of “Pull it tighter!  ” and “Rotate it!  ” echoed across the rooftop, accompanied by bursts of laughter. In the end, through trial and error and a whole lot of teamwork, we managed to lay down a smooth, green carpet for our garden.

2.   Planting a Global Harvest
Next, it was time to bring our garden to life with plants. As a foreign trade team, we’re used to dealing with diverse cultures and products, so we decided to plant a variety of herbs and vegetables from around the world, including cucumbers, coriander, green onions, and bell peppers.

The cucumber plants required us to build sturdy trellises. We gathered materials and got to work, but it wasn’t as easy as it looked. The wooden planks seemed determined to splinter, and the twine kept tangling. However, just like we tackle complex trade negotiations, we analyzed the problem, came up with a plan, and worked together to construct trellises that were not only functional but also looked pretty impressive.

Planting the delicate coriander and green onion seedlings was a more meticulous task.   We treated each tiny plant with the same care we give to important trade documents, gently placing them in the soil and making sure they had enough space to grow. As we worked, we shared stories about our favorite international dishes that featured these herbs, creating a sense of global connection right on our rooftop.

The bell pepper plants added a splash of color to our garden. We carefully selected the best spots for them, considering factors like sunlight and soil quality. It was like finding the perfect market for a new product—all about research and strategic placement.

3.   Nurturing Growth, Both Above and Below Ground
With the new plants in place, we didn’t forget about the existing greenery on the rooftop.   Armed with watering cans and fertilizer, we fanned out across the balcony, chatting and catching up as we cared for the plants. It was a peaceful, almost meditative moment, a chance to slow down and connect with each other and with nature.

Some of us swapped stories about our own home gardens, while others shared tips and tricks for keeping our plants healthy. And as the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over our rooftop oasis, we knew that this day had been about so much more than just gardening. It had been about building a stronger, more connected team.

The Bounty of Our Labor
When we finally stepped back and looked at our rooftop garden, we were filled with a sense of pride. What was once a barren, concrete space was now a lush, vibrant oasis. The green turf, colorful plants, and the gentle breeze blowing through the leaves created a peaceful and inviting atmosphere.

But the real success of the day wasn’t just the beautiful garden we’d created. It was the way we’d come together as a team, overcome challenges, and had fun along the way.   We’d learned that when we work together, support each other, and approach problems with a positive attitude, we can achieve anything—whether it’s closing a major trade deal or creating a thriving rooftop garden.
